米国大使館にてミネソタ州知事視察団及び大使館の皆さんとお話しする機会をいただきました。大尊敬する日本の先輩女性リーダーの方々と一緒にお招きいただき、女性の起業環境、就労と子育て等幅広い議論を交わしました。
印象に残っているのは、ミネソタ州における育休中に給料の一部が支払われる制度導入に至るまでの道のりについての話題です。変化を起こしていくときに必要なのは、誰かのものがたり、連携、そして伝え続けることの重要性。日本と米国（ミネソタ州）、場所は違っても同じ痛みや願いを抱えている。その実践や過程共有して変えていけることから変えていこう。そんなメッセージを話しました。

It was a great honor to have a round table discussion with Governor Tim Walz, Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan, and the all the attendees from Minnesota, and the wonderful members from the U.S. Embassy.
We discussed about how important it is to have support women to gain access to capital for entrepreneurship, how social services supports such as paid family leave are important as well as the understanding of leaders and colleagues.
What was most moving, was the story of how paid Family and Medical Leave bill was passed in Minnesota. All starts from someone’s story, and grows with a coalition.
My message was that “we share the same pain and same wishes”- so by sharing our experiences and solutions, we can collaborate to make a world where no parents be isolated, and all children be raised with the power of community.
